The so-called Transparent Periodic Table t-pse (Transparent-Periodensystem) is the result of a decade-long development, with the feedback and input of wide classroom experience. In the original printed version, real transparencies were used, which could be superimposed in different combinations according to requirements.
Yesterday as today, in the new Flash version presented here, the basic idea is to show only what is needed at that particular moment in order to make relations more transparent, i.e. more obvious. In this context, it is essential to have a graphical representation allowing for the discerning at one glimpse of the differences and similarities depending on group and period.

The following transparencies are currently available:
- Atomic Numbers
- Melting and Boiling Points
- Electron Configurations
- Valences
- Metals / Non-metals
- Acidic / basic character of the Oxides
- Electronegativity
- Ionisation Energies
- Atomic Radii
- Ionic Radii

The transparencies can be viewed or printed individually or in any combination. |
 |
Each transparency contains a key with short explanations. |
 |
A detailed view is available for each transparency, yielding numerical values for the graphical representation, further information or a magnified view. |
Apart from the graphical representation, the respective numerical values and partly further relevant information can be superimposed. E.g. the co-ordination numbers of different modifications of elements are available in the transparency "Metals/non-metals".
